PERFECT FIT

Targeting key risk factors for cardiovascular disease in at-risk individuals using a personalized and adaptive approach
Jan 2020 - Dec 2024
Background
Smoking and lack of sufficient exercise are important risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease. However, it is not always easy to stop smoking or adhere to a regular exercise routine, even for people willing to make a change. One reason for this is that support from friends or a caregiver is not always available, especially at times when people need it most.
Objective
This project lead by Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and the National Health Living Lab (NeLL) aims at developing a virtual coach that will support people to develop a healthy lifestyle in order to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
